Gynecology and Obstetrics is the medical speciality that deals with obstetrics and gynecology. It represents an established forum for the entire field of obstetrics and gynecology, publishing a broad range of original, peer-reviewed papers, from scientific and clinical research to reviews relevant to practice.

The journal continues to attract a world-wide readership, thanks to the emphasis on practical applicability and its excellent record of drawing on an international base of authors.

The journal publishes original contributions describing basic research and clinical investigation of gynecology and obstetrics, on the cellular, molecular, prevention, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis aspects. Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women, and the seventh overall, with an estimated 528,000 new cases in 2012.There were an estimated 266,000 deaths from cervical cancer worldwide in 2012, accounting for 7.5%of all female cancer deaths. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in India in women accounting for 22.86% of all cancer cases in women and 12% of all cancer cases in both men and women.
